LACE STUCCO FINISH

The Lace finish has become very common in the past twenty years. The earlier years of the Lace finish was much heavier and less consistent. This finish still is done however, has several drawbacks with colleting dirt, moisture and chipping. The lighter lace pattern not only is more popular however, hides cracks and imperfection very well, stays cleaner than the heavier finish, and is easy to patch for future changes. This finish is commonly used on newer homes through southern California. The lace finish is achieved by applying a 16-20 sand then following it by a heavier skip trowel effect over it then finally knocking it down to achieve the tighter pattern.
